Sinan Krause

Sinan Krause (born 1986), is a German-Iraqi, who was kidnapped by Iraqi militants in Baghdad on February 6, 2007, along with her mother Hannelore Krause. Since then he is held captive in Iraq. His fate is unknown.

Sinan Krause was born around 1986 in Baghdad. His mother Hannelore worked for the Austrian embassy. His farther Mohamed al-Tornachi is a physician. Sinan has two siblings, a brother an a sister, who live in Germany. They were abducted on February 6, 2007, from their apartment in Baghdad by six men. The kidnappers demanded for German officials to remove all troops from Afghanistan. A first video of the two hostages was released on an internet site on March 10, 2007. In this message the militants said that they would kill the two hostages after ten days.

On March 27, 2007, American troops searched the two captured Germans in Baghdad, but fruitless. The second message was posted on an Islamic website on April 3, 2007. Hannelore Krause repeated the demands of the kidnappers. Sinan Krause didn't said any word in both videos and he cried by the side of his mother.

On July 10, 2007, Hannelore Krause was released after 155 days in captivity, but Sinan remains a hostage. The last video of Sinan Krause was released on September 11, 2007. This was recorded on this day, which Hannelore was freed. It showed Sinan saying goodbye to his mother. Sinan Krause hasn't been seen or heard from since. His fate in unknown down to the present day. The least appeal to the abductors was on April 24, 2008, when the farther of Sinan has plead to free his son.
