Ufton is a small village located in the Stratford District of
Warwickshire ,England . It located 8km south east ofLeamington Spa and 3km west ofSoutham on theA425 road . It sits on top of a glacialescarpment 121 metres above sea level which was formed during the last ice age. Long Itchington Charter is is called "Wulluht Graf" which is, in modern English, Ufton Wood. In theDomesday book it is called "Ulchtune". One theory is the the name comes from the Danish cheif Ulla who lived in the area. The village has historic links toBalliol College ofOxford University which owned much of the parish land in the 19th century.
