Olsen & Johansen

Olsen and Johansen are two Norwegian artists based in Oslo and Stavanger. They have both studied art photography at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth in England. Olsen and Johansens started collaborating in 2006. They both have their own independent practices, yet meet up to make art when this is possible. They most commonly use performances to express ideas and attitudes, often the expression is based around existential themes, such as angst, absurdity, freedom and nothingness. Olsen and Johansen have stated that their mission is to become the new Munch(Edvard Munch (1863 – 1944)is probably the most recognized Norwegian artist. His best-known composition is Skrik (The Scream) from 1893).
