jazz came from growing up, together with jazz journalistKnut Borge . [ [http://www.horvei.com/artikler/husby.html Per Husby] byTom Horvei .] Husby studied piano atNorges Musikkhøgskole (1962-67), and became asivilingeniør inacoustics (underAsbjørn Krokstad ) atNTH (1973), following it up with studies atJazzlinja (NTNU) andBerklee inBoston . InTrondheim (1971-80) he worked with theBodega Band where he (withJan Tro ) wrote a large amount of music on many recordings. Later, Husby played in groups led byAsmund Bjørken andBjørn Alterhaug , and withTrøndelag Teater (1977-80). Husby led his own septet, (1975-78), quintet (1980-83), and released records with the Per Husby Dedication Orchestra (13 tracks).InOslo (1980-) he took over the leadership ofForeningen norske jazzmusikere (1983-85), wrote and editedJazznytt (1981-84), translated "Great names in jazz" (1980). He became best known as theNRK -MC in the programmeDa Capo .Husby translated the book "Store navn i jazzen" (1987).Husby has also produced forHilde Louise Asbjørnsen , and played in theBodil Niska quartet.Releases
