Ísafjarðarbær

Ísafjarðarbær (coord|66|04|N|23|09|W|region:IS_type:city|display=inline,title) is a
municipality of Iceland in the Westfjords region, created in 1996 from Flateyrarhreppur, Ísafjarðarkaupstaður, Mosvallahreppur, Mýrahreppur, Suðureyrarhreppur and Þingeyrarhreppur.It has an area of 2.416 km² and a population of 4,131.

The principal settlement is Ísafjörður, others being Hnífsdalur, Flateyri, Suðureyri and Þingeyri.
