Sim Car World Series (SCWS) is a professional sim racing league. Founded in 2008, it mirrors the Champ Car World Series and is becoming one of the largest sim racing league in the World. As of 2008 the series uses the Racing Sim rFactor by Image Space Incorporated.

Formation

The Sim Car World Series was thought up by Justin Amundrud, and Kyle Blume. The league was originally called the Simdy Car World Series, but eventually decided to change its name so it would not be confused with RACERS SimdyCar Series.

Format

The current format of the Sim Car World Series is derived from the Champ Car World Series, and follows all of its rules.

The league holds 12 Team Licenses that are available for teams to buy to be able to compete. Each license counts for a 2 car's and car numbers. The numbers 1, and 2 being reserved for the Teams Champion at the end of the season. Each team is responsible to make sure that they have their drivers prepared for the next Grand Prix.

The primary goal is to of course win the series Championship which is a $1000 Cash Prize.

Race Format

The current season (2008) is a building season for the league and does not incorporate the following. Although the Sim Car Racing Association have announced that these will be put in effect for the 2009 season.

Qualifying

Sim Car World Series uses a Knockout Qualifying that is split into 2 sessions. The first session lasts for 10 minutes and has all drivers on track. At the end of that session the Top 10 will be permitted to go onto Q2 while the rest of the field will be forced to stay in the pits. Q2 also last 10 minutes.

Race Day Format

The Final Warm-up session and Race will be held on Sunday. All Drivers who have been confirmed entrants must then be on the Server before the end of the Warm-up session. After this is the drivers meeting which will go down everything that the drivers need to remember while on the track. After the meeting the cars are put on the Grid and are set to race the full 1 Hour and 10 minutes.

Scoring

The championship is decided by points, which are awarded according to the place in which a driver classifies at each grand prix. The points are allocated as follows:

Notes:
*Nicholas Mansfield was traded from inTech Motorsports Team USA to Grand Slam Racing on September 29th, 2008. He will be partnered with Matt Brinson on the team from Cleveland onward.

*Phillipe Crouveau was signed by Vision Racing (now G4 Racing) with a contract to the end of 2008.

*Phil Roberts, winner of the first ever SCWS race. Announced his departure from the series immediately after Round 1, he left because of race times conflicting with other things. Black Sun Racing Technologies are looking for a replacement.
