Mark Boeijen [http://www.librariusmetallicus.com/Musician/view/3027] (pronounced "Boy-en") is an Australian drummer/songwriter currently playing with Australian melodic metal band Voyager [http://www.voyager-australia.com] . Born in Subiaco,
Perth, Western Australia in1976 he has made significant contributions to the Australian metal scene during his inception in 1996. His minor accolades include involvement with "Samain", "Syntony", "Daybreak", "Pathogen", "Vespers Descent".Boeijen picked up the drums at the early age of 12. Playing through highschool, started his own band in 1993 called Daytura. By 1995 it had formed under the name Syntony where Boeijen was developing as a riff-writer on the side. By 1996 he then turned his drumming talents to the legendary black/celtic metal band "Samain" for the 1998 demo "Revenge of the Natural". Samain decided to split in 2000, leaving Boeijen to join Perth masters Pathogen. After recording an unreleased EP, Boeijen went and helped out friend Grant Burns with his project "Vespers Descent" and contributed to the writing and recording process of "Three Faces of Eve" (2003) and "Visions In Verse" (2005) albums [http://www.themetalforge.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=485>] . At the end of 2005, Boeijen accepted an invite to record the second LP for national heroes Voyager. "uniVers" was released in 2007 and has since stayed on as permanent member.
Boeijen has returned to Pathogen numerous times as fill-in touring drummer.
