Thioselenide

A thioselenide is a compound containing a selenium-sulphur bond.

The mammalian version of the protein thioredoxin reductase contains a selenocysteine residue which forms a thioselenide (analogous to a disulphide) upon oxidation.

The selenium-sulphur bond length is about 220 picometers.
