Eilean Deargannan

Eilean Deargannan (Scottish Gaelic: "Island of fleas or sandhoppers" [http://smo.uhi.ac.uk/gaidhlig/faclair/sbg/lorg.php?facal=flea&seorsa=Beurla&tairg=Lorg&eis_saor=on] is a small island in Loch Lomond, in west central Scotland. It is not far from Rowardennan (to the east), it lies between it and Inverbeg.

It has euphemistically been suggested to come from "purple island" as well.
