Greenstone Pictures is a television and film production company based in Auckland, New Zealand. Greenstone was founded in 1994 by John Harris, a former journalist, producer and director with Communicado and TVNZ.
After a decade as a newspaper journalist, John joined TVNZ in 1974, where he worked for 12 years as reporter, presenter, chief reporter, director, producer and trainer. At Communicado the shows he produced included "That’s Fairly Interesting" and "Heroes".
Greenstone is regularly commissioned to make programmes for all New Zealand channels - TVONE and TV2, TV3 (New Zealand), Prime Television New Zealand, and Maori Television – and is also making shows for Australian channels.
