New York State holidays

There are 14 observed New York State holidays (2007 dates):

*January 15: (Martin Luther King Day)
*February 12: (Lincoln's Birthday)
*February 19: (Washington's Birthday)
*May 28: (Memorial Day)
*June 12: (Flag Day)
*July 4: (Independence Day)
*September 3: (Labor Day)
*October 8: (Columbus Day)
*November 6: (Election Day)
*November 12: (Veterans' Day, Observed)
*November 22: (Thanksgiving Day)
*December 25: (Christmas Day)

Observance dates vary by holiday and year, and if the day falls on a weekend the previous Friday or following Monday is date for the holiday. Some holidays are considered floating holidays for state government employees and for 2007 these are Lincoln's Birthday and Election Day.
