Edward Chatterley

Edward James William Chatterley (1873-1956)

Born in Dehli, British India to General Cyril James Chatterley and Elizabeth Anne Chatterley, he is a Anglo-Indian born to a nurse and army officer. He is best known for his work in a movement that tried to help Mahatma Gandhi in the resistence against British rule in India.

After India became Independent in 1948, he continued to live in India for many years until his death in Hyderabad India on November 20th 1956.

He married Akshwari Rao Randikishan on July 14th 1900 and they had two children, one son and a daughter. Edward Majarkah Chatterley II and Elizabeth Mary Askhikta. He has descendents in both Jersey and South Africa.
