John Gisborne

John Gisborne

John Gisborne was the father of Thomas Gisborne the Elder and owner of Yoxall Lodge in Staffordshire, later a reatreat for William Wilberforce when his son held the property. Whilst Yoxall Lodge no longer stands its grounds have been incorporated into the National Forest. Additionally Gisborne commissioned the Grade 1 listed St Helen's House in Derby, built 1766-7.
