Last Man Standing is the first episode of the sixth series of the drama TV series NCIS.

Plot

About four months (126 days) after the split of his NCIS A-Team, Special Agent Gibbs is shown not to be satisfied with his new team. We find out that the team's Agent Lee from the NCIS Legal Department, Agent Daniel Keating from the Cybercrime Division, and Agent Bret Langer from the FBI. Agent Gibbs is assigned a new case about a murdered Pentagon officer. Gibbs, running on his gut instinct once again, asks Director Leon Vance why he split up his team. Vance tells him the truth: he figured out that there was a mole in NCIS and he wanted to find out who it was. He narrowed it down to three people, Gibbs' new team. He knew Agent Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, and McGee would find the mole. He assigned Timothy McGee to the CyberCrime unit in order to do more research on this and to keep track of the three, sent Ziva David back to Israel as the Pentagon Officer was blackmailed into selling information to the Mossad, and Tony DiNozzo to the USS Ronald Regan and eventually the Seahawk's communications center so he could have access to classified documents.

While Gibbs and Vance were investigating Keating in the interrogation room, Langer and Lee went down to Building Three. When down there, Langer reaches for his gun. Gibbs soon gets a call from Lee asking for help with gun shots heard all around her. Gibbs and Vance find Lee in shock with Langer, dead, on the floor.

At the end, Agent Lee is talking to Gibb's while talking to Gibbs after packing her things when she receives a text message. Lee ignores it as she gives her farewell. Lee exits via elevator as she passes Ziva returning to NCIS. Lee then enters the elevator and reads the ignored message, it said "Do they suspect?" Flashbacks show how she shot Langer and faked shooting the glass when she called Gibbs. She responds, "NO".
