The Julius Stulberg International String Competition is one of the most notable classical string music competitions for young string artists under the age of twenty in the world, taking place in
Kalamazoo since 1975 and held annually since 1976.The Julius Stulberg International String Competition is open for violin, viola, cello, and bass.
In 2009, the coming competition, the First Prize will gain the performance with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. The Second Prize will gain the performance with the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra. The Third Prize will gain the performance with the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra.
