homepage = [http://www.knin.com/ www.knin.com]KNIN-TV, also known as K9 Entertainment Television, is an affiliate of the
The CW Television Network , and serves theBoise, Idaho area. The station is owned byBanks Broadcasting and operates onVHF channel 9. It signed on the air by owner William Schuyler as KHDT-TV in1993 as an affiliate of the Home Shopping Network. Schuyler later sold the station to a subsidiary of Lambert Broadcasting, who affiliated it with both the United Paramount Network (UPN) and the Warner Bros. Network (the "WB"). In time, the station dropped the WB affiliation to be a sole UPN affiliate until UPN and WB merged in 2006 to form the CW. It is licensed toCaldwell, Idaho .In addition to the main channel, KNIN also operates a CW Plus channel on both its digital signal & CableOne channel 13, branded as "Boise's CW13". This was originally KWOB, a cable-only WB affiliate that was part of
The WB 100+ Station Group . When KNIN, originally aUPN affiliate, took The CW affilaition, they added the channel to its digital signal as part of the new CW Plus. During prime-time CW network programming, the schedules on both KNIN and KNIN-DT2/CW 13 are identical. On July 1, 2008 it was reported that Banks Broadcasting has agreed to sell KNIN to Journal Broadcast Group, owner of
KIVI , which would create Boise's first televisionduopoly group. [ [http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=1&date=7/1/2008&id=42524 JS Online: NewsWatch ] ] [ [http://www.tvnewsday.com/articles/2008/07/01/daily.12/ TVNEWSDAY - Journal Broadcast Doubling Up in Boise ] ]References
