Pamela Liversidge (née Edwards) was born 23 December 1949 [http://www.burkes-peerage.net/familyhomepage.aspx?FID=0&FN=LIVERSIDGEPAMELA] Burke's Peerage and Gentry] graduated with a
BSc inMechanical Engineering fromAston University . After graduating she worked forGKN , then moved first into forging, then the electricity supply industry, becoming Divisional Director of East Midlands Electricity. In 1993 she set up her own business to manufacture specialist metal powders, notably for medical engineering, and from 1999 was Managing Director of Quest Investments, a holding company for several engineering enterprises. In 1997 she was the first female president of theInstitution of Mechanical Engineers . She was awarded theOBE in 1999. She has received honorary degrees from Aston, Bradford and Sheffield Hallam Universities. She has beenHigh Sheriff ofSouth Yorkshire . She is a Fellow of theRoyal Academy of Engineering , Fellow of theCity and Guilds Institute, Freeman of theCompany of Cutlers in Hallamshire , and Liveryman of theWorshipful Company of Engineers . She and her husband Douglas were appointed Mistress and Master Cutler of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire in 1998.References
