Kandelaki has been critical of the
Government of Georgia . Especially with respect to Georgia's relations with Russia and the2008 South Ossetia War . Referring to the Georgian government she says "Twenty four hours a day they show propaganda about how bad the Russians are, everything there is controlled bySaakashvili – business, and the media. There is no freedom at all." With reference to the recent war "Saakashvili did everything possible to bring this about, of course the Russian response was disproportionate, and difficult to deal with, but it was all Saakashvili's fault."References
