Paul E. Dinkel

Paul E. Dinkel is the creator and founder of the tile product called Wonderboard, which is now manufactured by Custom Building Products. In September of 2005, Paul E. Dinkel was awarded the second annual Ring of Honor, which is given to those who have played a significant role in the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA). He was also rewarded the Tile Person of the Year by the Tile Council of North America (TCA) in 2004.

History

Wonderboard is a concrete based material that is mainly used as a backing for ceramic tile, brick or slate. A backing, also known as a backer board, gives a flat, dry, mortar-like material that is ready to be installed. The concrete based material is designed to hold in moisture, making a rot-free core for structures that are used in bathrooms, floors, countertops, walls, decks, ceilings, and vanities. The moisture and mold resistance makes Wonderboard ideal for interior and exterior uses. Wonderboard can be found in the ceramic tile section of most home improvement stores.
