Brandenburg ,Germany . It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts ofOstprignitz-Ruppin andOberhavel , the city-state ofBerlin , the district ofPotsdam-Mittelmark , the city of Brandenburg and the state ofSaxony-Anhalt (districts ofJerichower Land and Stendal).History
The district was established in 1993 by merging the former districts of Nauen and Rathenow.
Geography
Geographically Havelland is the name for the regions on the banks of the
Havel river and the area surrounded by the large "U", surrounded by its course between the city ofBerlin and the confluence with theElbe river. This region also includes the cities of Brandenburg andPotsdam , that are not part of the district. The district mainly consists of the areas north of the Havel river.Coat of arms
