] Human Rights First reported that Afghan officials had tried 82 former captives of the USA between October 2007 and April 2008. The trials took place in a special court room built in Block D of the Pul-e-charkhi prison. Block D is a new wing of the prison, built by the USA, to a US design, staffed by a guard force trained and selected by the USA, to guard captives who were all former captives of the USA.
