- A village near Vaideeswaran KovilThiruperumangalam or Perumangalam is a village cited in the 4 Km western side of Vaideeswaran Kovil and in the north-east to Thirupunkoor. This village is known well established during Chola's Kingdom (10th Century). Its having a strong history in its account. One among the 63 Nayanmar named Kalikama Nayanar lived in this village and served the people. This village was narrated well in the Sekizar Puranam written by the poet Sekizar who was the minister of Second Kulothunga Cholan.
This village is having many temples and one among them is Pichaiamman aalayam placed in the center of this village. Pichaiamman temple was very old and was damaged from the past 400 years. The temple was renovated and "Maha Kumbabishega pooja" was completed on 04th Sept 2008 by Selvam family residing in Mayiladuthurai.
