Los Angeles , California to mother Suzanne, an accountant, and John Shaw, President of theSt. Louis Rams football team. The Ephemeral Gallery was intended to create a community around an art centre in an interactive way. It moved from place to place each month and received a small following in Culver City, California. In 2006, Shaw moved to Manchester, England to receive her Masters from the
University of Manchester in Art Gallery and Museum Studies. In 2007 she overlapped her PhD with her Masters and began at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (IDSVA), a new program designed to grant doctorates to working art professionals. From 2006 to present, Shaw has written for magazines including Flavorpill, White Hot Magazine of Contemporary Art, and Valley Scene Magazine. She has curated multiple exhibitions both in the US and abroad, and was recently named an expert in White Cube philosophy by Dr. George Smith, director of IDSVA after her MA dissertation "Ecstasy: in and About the White Cube."
