Pilsner Fest is the biggest beer festival in the Czech Republic held each year in Pilsen, hometown of beer.

History

No other town in the world is connected to beer like Pilsen. Beer has been brewed here since establishment of town in 1295. After establishment of Pilsner Urquell Brewery on October 5, 1842 Pilsen became first town in the world producing lager which is brewed all around the world today. Later the brewery and city of Pilsen started to organize a beer festival to celebrate anniversary of first beer in the world. Today it's one of the famost beer festivals in Europe.

Pilsner Fest takes place in downtown Pilsen - the tents and stages are located on courtyards of Pilsner Urquell Brewery, in the streets of historic city center and also in surrounding pubs and restaurants.
