4 November 2008 . Incumbent PresidentTommy Remengesau is term limited and will therefore not be seeking re-election.This is the first presidential election in

President of Palau . The field will be narrowed to just two candidates on the presidentialprimary election which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday,September 23 ,2008 . The two primary winners will face off aganist each other on the general election date ofNovember 4 ,2008 .The current Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates are:

All four presidential candidates and their running mates have held rallies throughout Palau. Campaigning has also taken place within overseas Palauan communities in the mainland
