Akehurst

The name AKEHURST is an old English name referencing a grove of Oak trees, or an Oak Grove. "Ake" is old English for the Oak tree. "Hurst" is old English for a grove of trees. Thus, put together, the name "Akehurst" represents an Oak Grove. Interestingly enough, the akehurst families typically have an interest in plants and gardening. From Sussex England, the Akehurst family was denoted as the Royal Gardeners of England in the 1700s.
