David Henry Saunders-Davies (1894 - 1975 [Crockford's clerical directory Lambeth, Church House, 1976 Obituaries] ) was the second Bishop of Stockport from 1951 until 1965 ["New Bishop of Stockport consecrated" The Times, Saturday, Feb 03, 1951; pg. 8; Issue 51916; col D] . Educated at Liverpool College and Queens' College, Cambridge [“Who was Who”1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] , he held Curacies at "St John, Birkenhead" [ [http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/chs/birkenhead.html Closed in 1971] ] " and "St John, Reading" [ [http://www.stjohnandstephen.co.uk/assets/ParishProfile.doc Parish profile] ] and incumbencies at Hollingworth and Mobberley before wartime service with the RAFVR. When peace returned he was appointed Rural Dean and then Suffragan Bishop of Stockport. After retiring, he was an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Worcester
