Archie Baird

Archie Baird is a former Scottish international footballer who played for a variety of scottish clubs including most notably Arberdeen F.C, where he won the 1946-1947 scottish league cup and made 104 appearances,scoring 26 goals from 1946-1953. He fought in the second world war and was imprisoned in an Italian concentration camp. He escaped and lived with an Italian family as their "son". As a result Baird can speak both Italian and English.After the Second World War, Archie won his sole cap for Scotland against Belgium. In 1989 he published his autobiography - Family of Four. Archie Baird 89, lives with his wife Nancy 86, and has several children.
