U-158 was sunk with all hands lost at coord|32|50|N|67|28|W.Edwin Rostin joined the German Navy in 1933 and served 8 years on the
minesweeper s. He was transferred tosubmarine training in 1941. Rostin sailed for his first combat patrol as commander of U-158 February 7, 1942. His last patrol (May 4 - June 30, 1942), with 12 confirmed kills (62,536 tons), was one of the most successful in Kriegsmarine but ended in sinking of U-158 with all hands. In five months U-158 destroyed 16 allied merchant ships and damaged two others.References
