San Remo 1930 chess tournament

The famous casino's first ever international tournament occurred in Italy, from 16th January to 4th February 1930. Sixteen chess masters from Europe and the Americas, including the World Champion, gathered in San Remo. The participants played the round robin tournament in the casino of San Remo during daytime. Alexander Alekhine dominated the entire field with an unbelievable score of 14/15, scoring 3½ points better than second place Aron Nimzowitsch, and winning the grand prize of 10,000 liras. [http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chesscollection?cid=1009071]
