† Appearances (Goals).Doncho Donev (born 24 January 1967) is a retired Bulgarian professional footballer who played as a striker for several clubs in Europe and the Bulgaria national football team. Donev is the current president of the Bulgarian Football Players' Association, and has called for limits on the number of foreign players in the Bulgarian football league.[1]
Donev began his career in Bulgaria playing for F.C. Dimitrovgrad, before spells with CSKA Sofia, Lokomotiv Sofia and Levski Sofia.[2] In August 1996, he moved to Turkey to play for Sarıyer G.K., Vanspor and Denizlispor in the Süper Lig.[3]
Donev received three caps for the Bulgaria national football team, first appearing in a friendly against Turkey on 26 August 1992.[4]
