Piero Gamba (also called Pierino Gamba) is a world renown orchestra conductor, pianiste et ex-child prodigy, Italian, born in Rome on December 16th 1936.
Biography
Piero Gamba won the
Arnold Bax Memorial Medal in 1962.
He was, among others, the musical director and conductor of theWinnipeg Symphony Orchestra from 1971 till 1980.
He was also the main conductor of theAustralian Broadcasting Corporation from 1980 till 1987 ; where he conducted among others theAdelaide Symphony Orchestra .
Finally he was the musical director and conductor of the SODRE National Symphonic Orchestra of Uruguay from 1994 till 1995 as well as from 2001 till 2004.Interpreted Composers
