Campshire

Campshire

A campshire is a stretch of land between a quay and a road. Warehouses are sometimes sited on them, such as those on Sir John Rogerson's Quay in Dublin.

Such a warehouse may well have one set of doors on the road and the other on the quayside for securing cargo. They have fallen out of use mainly because of the use of shipping containers.
