The 2009 World Series by Renault season will begin on an as yet unspecified date and will be the fifth season of the Renault-backed single-seater category.

Regulation Changes

Technical

After debuting in the 2008 season, the aerodynamics of the current Dallara chassis are due to undergo "minor enhancements inspired by the 2009 F1 regulations". * The Thursday test sessions at each meeting will be scrapped, to be replaced with two one-hour sessions on the Friday
* The duration of each race will be extended to 50 minutes
* A bonus point will be awarded to the driver who climbs the most places during each race

In addition, at the halfway point of the season the championship leader will get the opportunity to demonstrate a Renault R28 F1 car at a World Series meeting, with the eventual champion earning a test with the ING Renault F1 team at the end of the season. 2009 Calendar

It was announced on May 26, 2008 that the new Motorland Aragón circuit near Alcañiz, Spain will host a round of the 2009 season.
