Roberto Di Cosmo is an italian computer scientist and researcher, located in
France .He graduated from the "Scuola Normale Superiore de Pise" and owns a PhD from
Pise 's university, before becoming conference master at theÉcole normale supérieure inParis , then professor at the Paris 7 University.Former of the French AFUL, the French association of
Linux andFree Software users, he's known for his implication in theOpen Source Software field.He became famous after publicating a pamphlet against
Microsoft in 1998 : "Piège dans le cyberespace" (Hijacking the world, the dark side of Microsoft).Co-written with the journalistDominique Nora , this book is now freely available underCreative Commons licence BY-NC-ND.One of his famous contributions to Linux is also the first « live » linux distribution (2000 to 2002) : demolinux, making possible to test Linux from a
