History

The church was built between 1771 and 1773. [Pevsner, Nikolaus. 1979. "The Buildings of England:Nottinghamshire". page 294. Harmondsworth, Middx. Penguin.] . It was consecrated by Robert Hay Drummond the Archbishop of York.
