Steve Woodmore - Worlds Fastest Talker

Holds the World record for fast talking with a measured speed of 634 words per minute.Fact|date=October 2008

Steve 1st broke the world record in 1989 and since then has improved upon it 4 times.Fact|date=October 2008

This record has created some controversy, Guinness no longer feature it in the Guinness book of world records, and instead have chosen to assess fast talking by the recital of the "to be or not to be" soliloquy from Hamlet.Fact|date=October 2008

The controversy is that firstly the soliloquy is not English as it is spoken today, and secondly it can be done in 22 seconds.Fact|date=October 2008

If a world record is to be measured in words per minute, then the passage needs to be 1 minute long.

Steve's passage was 612 words long and from the Tom Clancy Novel "Patriot Games".Fact|date=October 2008

Many fast talkers can only recite a single set passage, Steve can recite anything written in the english language at first sight without practice of speeds at up to 400 words per minute.Dubious|date=October 2008
