Eamonn Darcy (footballer)

Eamonn Darcy (footballer) (born in 1933 in Dublin) is a former Irish football player who played as a goalkeeper.

Nicknamed "Sheila" he began at junior club Johnville before joining Shelbourne F.C. and then Dundalk F.C.. After 2 years at Oldham Athletic F.C. he came home to join Shamrock Rovers in 1956 and played in the clubs first four European Champion Clubs' Cup games.

Played in the trip to the United States and Canada in the summer of 1961.

Left for Drumcondra F.C. in 1963. Had his testimonial in August 1967 [http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/archive/1967/0811/Pg004.html#Ar00409:31948735B4A1] .
