Raja Muhammad Akbar Khan

Raja Akbar Khan belonged to Mirpur district of jammu and Kashmir. A famous activist of freedom movement in Kashmir. A person who was responsible for educating people of Mirpur and State how to get rid of suppressing powers. He left no stoned unturned to work for the Kashmiri nations. He joined All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and later on he became a nationalist. He was imprisoned in Jammu after he arranged big agitation against Toheen of Quran in Jammu.Raja Karam Dad Khan was born at Garruhtta in the teshil of Sehnsa. He joined British army in his youth and became leiutinent. When he saw Dogras oppressing the innocent kashmiri Mulims he left the army and came to spare his home land. He find some good companions as Colonol Mehmood Khan, Raja Sakhi Daler Khan and Raja Saif Ali Khan. They inspired the people and headed to the dogras. They freed the Lachmi Pattan and named it as Azad Pattan. Then they attacked the famous forte of Tharochi and conqured it. Lt. K.D Khan arranged kashmiri adminstration and then served till his last day. He died in 1960 and is burried at Keri Garruhtta in the Tehsil Of Sehnsa. He had two sons Raja Muhammad Saleem Khan and Raja Muhammad Nawas Mungral. The whloe story is in the famous book of Tareekh Mungral written by Anjum Sultan Shahbaz.
