Raptr is a social networking site created by Dennis Fong to help gamers keep abreast of their friends' gaming activity and achievements, regardless of platform. Unlike many competing sites, Raptr was created to cater to anyone who plays games, including those who play video games but do not consider themselves to be traditional gamers.

A key distinction of Raptr is its ability to automatically stay abreast of users' gaming with little effort. A user simply enters their gaming identites for their gaming platforms and Raptr automatically keeps their profile up to date. There is also a lightweight client that provides real-time presence and keeps users' installed games automatically updated. When visiting Raptr, users can easily see a variety of interesting feeds for themselves, their friends, and everyone on the site. Many of these feeds are also published via RSS.

These feeds contain info on when people are playing in addition to their achievements in the games they play. For example, for Raptr users who play Spore, their creatures and achievements are automatically posted to the site along with when they're playing the game. As is quickly becoming standard with Web 2.0 sites, a key aspect of Raptr is the discovery of new friends via their interests (in this context, the games they enjoy playing).

Since Raptr helps users build their gaming identities, they have a variety of features for publishing this identity on a variety of social sites, like Twitter, Friendfeed, and Facebook.
