Deshmanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala is the chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated and one of Sri Lanka's leading businessmen and philanthropists.

Early life and education

Born to Senator Justin Kotelawala a Ceylonese politician and businessmen, he was educated at Royal College, Colombo. He is the nephew of Sir John Kotelawala, the third Prime Minister of Ceylon

Businessmen

Taking over Ceylinco Consolidated from his father in the 1960s, Kotelawala expanded the group into new fields Banking, Non- Banking Finance, Investment Banking, Housing & Property Development, Travel & Leisure, Communication & Information Technology, Education and Healthcare and has recently diversified into the field of microfinance [ [http://www.lankanewspapers.com/news/2006/11/9292.html Business with philanthropy - Dr Lalith Kotelawala] Sri Lankan Times - November 13, 2006] . Honors

*In recognition of his efforts, the Government of Sri Lanka has bestowed on him, the title of Deshamanya.
