Abrie Fourie (born 1969 in Pretoria) is a South African born artist. He currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

While specialising in photography and digital media, Fourie prefers not to be bound by a specific genre. Working mainly in response to his immediate environment and everyday experiences, he collects ‘found images’ from the real world. While capturing appearances and details that many overlook or ignore, these are often used to create visual metaphors for deeper issues, such as religion, ethics and spirituality. Places visited, sights seen and chance encounters are part of Fourie’s frame of references. An important part of his process involves collaborating, where the boundaries between individual blur and expand into less predictable, more engaging artistic territories.
