Jagannathrao Joshi

Jagannathrao Joshi was a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and a member of Lok Sabha ( lower house of parliament of India).

He was born in 1920 in a Kannadiga family at Vatgunda in Karanataka state in India in 1920. He passed his matriculation from Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya in Pune and graduation in English Hons from Sir Parshurambhau College . Later he joined politics.

Joshi was elected to the Lok Sabha continuously for two terms during 1967 to 1977 from Bhopal and Shajapur constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. Later he served as a Member of Rajya Sabha from 1978 to 1984.

He was an erudite orator a renowned social and political worker. He actively participated in Goa Liberation Movement.

Joshi died on 15 July, 1991 at the age of 71.
