HM Prison Whatton is a prison in Whatton, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. Whatton is a category C prison which holds adult male sex offenders.

History

HMP Whatton opened its doors in 1966 and sits between the communities of the prison. It was used as a Young Offenders Institution in 1988 and changed role in 1990 to a Category C Adult Male Training Prison for vulnerable prisoners.

Today

Since May 1990 it has held sex offenders who participate in the Sex Offenders Treatment Programme.
