Pig Bride

Pig Bride is a Korean comic strip (manhwa) written and illustrated by KookHwa Huh and SuJin Kim. It is published monthly in Yen Plus.

As an eight year old boy, Si-Joon Lee was tricked into fulfilling a prophecy and marrying the mysterious 'Pig Bride' - a young blonde girl who hides her supposedly disfigured face under a pig mask. When Si-Joon turns sixteen, the Bride reappears and causes havoc, interrupting the blossoming romance between Si-Joon and classmate Doh-Doh.

Part One

Rebellious and spoilt eight year old Si-Joon Lee is sent to a summer camp in the mountains by his senator father. He runs away and gets lost. He is saved when he finds a house in the middle of nowhere, but the mysterious woman who lives there reveals to him that he is part of an ancient prophecy and must marry her daughter. The daughter is a small girl of Si-Joon's age who hides her face behind a smiling pig mask. Tempted by food, the starving Si-Joon agrees to the marriage.

The day before his sixteenth birthday, Si-Joon awakens from a troubled sleep. The story of his experiences in the mountain with the pig girl was just a horrible dream. Shrugging it off, he meets Doh-Doh, the true object of his affections, at lunch and she tells him that she is arranging a birthday party and that he must stay up until midnight so she can be the first to give him a present. Excited, Si-Joon does not sleep that night, and waits in bed until his birthday comes. When midnight strikes, the Pig Bride reappears, and states that she has come to consumate the marriage.
