Students' Democratic Party

Students' Democratic Party

The Students’ Democratic Party (SDP) is a student political party at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the oldest University in Asia. It is based on the Faculty of Arts and Letters, founded on June 12, 1981 during the dark ages of martial law by a student named Ferdinand Limos, making it the first ever student political party in the Philippines.

"SDP adheres to the concept of liberalism and lives by democracy as a system." The party's belief in student empowerment and a genuine liberal education for all remains its driving force in continuing its legacy of advocating and protecting their fellow students’ rights, welfare and general interest.
