Tomáš Dvořák

Tomáš Dvořák (pronounced|ˈtomaːʃ ˈdvor̝aːk) (born May 11, 1972 in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia) is an athlete from the Czech Republic. He competes in decathlon and heptathlon for team Dukla Praha. He is a previous world record holder in the decathlon (8,994 points scored in Prague, 1999). He is the only man to score over 8,900 points for three times.

Dvořák announced retirement in July, 2008 after he failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.
