15 August 1947 in Hull) is a former English footballer, who spent his playing career at Wolverhampton Wanderers.Career
Taylor began his football career at Wath Wanderers, the
Yorkshire -based nursery club of Wolverhampton Wanderers, before heading south in 1962 to join them. After proving himself in the reserve ranks, he progressed to making his first team debut on31 December 1966 in a goalless draw with Ipswich.He remained in the team for the remainder of the 1966/67 season as the club won promotion to the top flight. He also was part of the club's winning of the
United Soccer Association League that summer under theLos Angeles Wolves guise.The defender was often reserve to the likes of Joe Wilson, Bobby Thomson, Bernard Shaw and
Derek Parkin in the Wolves defence over his career, but played in both legs of the1972 UEFA Cup Final . He found ever-declining opportunities in his final two seasons with the club and instead spent time out on loan at Swindon Town in Autumn 1975.After 193 appearances in total for Wolves, he retired from the game in 1976 to join the local police force. Today, he resides in
Perton and works at the RAF Museum inCosford .External links
