Sisters of Charity of Halifaxis a Roman Catholic religious order established in 1849 in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The order originated from the Sisters of Charity of New York. By 1856 the order, in Halifax, was accepted as a separate congregation, by Pope Pius IX, and became the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Halifax.
The order, has provided education and health care, built various schools, hospitals & other foundations across Canada, throughout the eastern United States, in Bermuda, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
