Melissa Smith (born June 4, 1985) is an Canadian pop singer, actress, choreographer and model. She is most known for her reality TV appearances on "Making The Band 3" and "". She briefly worked as an assistant to a director whilst recording solo songs. She is now signed to 4847 Records.

Career

Melissa Ann Smith was born on June 4th, 1985, in Toronto, Ontario. Her family later moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan. She is part Italian and part English. She began figure skating at the age of 3, and at age 5, started gymnastics. From then, she progressed into dance. She Attended Deborah's Stage Dance Door Performing Arts Academy, and went on to become a solo dancer, as well as dancing in groups. At the age of 12, Melissa starred in a Christmas Extravaganza as a Singer. This led her to regional and national titles in song and dance competitions. She was cast as the lead in on-stage productions like "Cinderella", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Cabaret". She also is a model, and at the age of 16, she won 2nd place at a National Miss Photogenic Competition. This brought her into the modeling industry. At the age of 18, she auditioned for the girl pop group, "Goddess", and became the lead singer. She was signed to a production deal with Interscope Records, and made her first solo demo. She has made three independent films, playing the lead and had a supporting role in the 2004 film The Hillz. She has also guest starred on TV shows like Happy Family, Rodney and Grounded for Life. She also starred in the unaired WB pilot "Prep". She also has appeared in The Black Eyed Peas Instant Def webisode, music videos for Celine Dion and JC Chasez whilst appearing in many commercials. She has done promotional modeling for Miss Fitness, Detroit Automotive Show, Microsoft, Xbox, Sketcher and Dickies Girls.

Melissa entered the second season of MTV's Making The Band 3 hoping to get into the final band, whom would eventually be Danity Kane. She made the final eleven girls but when it came to the finale of the show she wasn't chosen as a member of the band. She appeared alongside best friend Aubrey O'Day in a Celebrity Edition of Exposed. She then took part in another reality TV show called "" in which she competed to become the next member of The Pussycat Dolls. She made several bottom two appearances but also won many challenges. She was the sixth contestant to be eliminated and the 3rd runner up. She went on to host the Detroit auditions for for "CW 50". After the show she briefly worked as an assistant to a director.

Most recently after failing to get into Danity Kane and The Pussycat Dolls on the reality TV shows "Making The Band 3" and " to promote the film.
